It is not a sin to experience same-sex thoughts or attractions. Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve experienced both emotional and sexual attraction towards other men. But I refuse to be frustrated, defeated or consumed by my experiences of homosexual desire.
Your life is precious to the Lord. You have the right to be your own person in Christ. But we each have to stand on our own in faith with God.
I know and feel your hurt as you experience the internal chaos of conflicting desires. Most of what you hear or observe is negativity, condemnation, lack of understanding and polarizing arguments. In popular media and entertainment. In politics. In church. At school. At work. At home.
But you feel the crushing burden more than most people. You feel it everyday. All the noise and confusion is about you. To you it’s not theory, a fantasy, an issue or a headline. It is your life. For you, it’s personal.
I urge you to maintain your resolve and your identity in Christ – especially when both the mainstream LGBT culture and the church/religious community mocks and marginalizes us.
